PESHAWAR (Khyber Mail): A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck several parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the federal capital, Islamabad, on Tuesday. The tremors were felt in major cities including Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Chiniot, Lakki Marwat, Swat, Chitral, Faisalabad, and others.
The earthquake’s epicenter was located in the DG Khan region, with a depth of 10 kilometers. The National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) confirmed the magnitude and depth of the quake. Despite the strong tremors, there have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
Residents in the affected areas reported feeling significant shaking, which caused panic and led to the evacuation of buildings. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and follow safety protocols.
