Melinda French Gates claims that her ex-husband, Bill Gates, should respond to his ties with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and the allegations found in the latest set of documents released by the government. “There are lingering questions about this situation. I cannot possibly know all of it; those inquiries are for those individuals, including my ex-husband,” French Gates remarked in a clip from an upcoming interview on NPR’s “Wild Card” podcast. “They must provide answers to those matters, not me.”

The Justice Department released more than 3 million pages of its investigative files on Epstein on Friday, resuming disclosures under a law aimed at revealing what the government knew about the millionaire financier’s sexual abuse of young girls and his associations with wealthy and powerful individuals such as Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and others.

“To add insult to injury, you then plead with me to delete the emails concerning your STD, your request for antibiotics that you could secretly administer to Melinda, and the description of your penis,” Epstein noted. In an NPR interview that will be fully released on Thursday, French Gates stated that the new documents caused her to feel “unbelievable sadness” and she hopes for “justice for those now-women.”

“It is personally difficult for me whenever those details are revealed, correct? This is because it evokes memories of some extremely painful periods in my marriage,” she stated to NPR.

What is the relationship between Bill Gates and Epstein?

According to The New York Times, Gates started meeting with Epstein in 2011, following Epstein’s conviction for sex crimes in Florida. Gates revealed to The Wall Street Journal in 2019 that he did not have a business relationship or friendship with Epstein, who took his own life in his Manhattan jail cell in 2019 while he was awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking minors.

In a 2021 interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, however, he acknowledged having had several dinners with Epstein in an effort to raise funds for philanthropic purposes, which he later described as a “significant error.” Since that time, Gates has consistently expressed his regret over meeting and dining with Epstein.
