BEIJING (Agencies): China has announced the resumption of 15-day visa-free entry for citizens of Singapore and Brunei, starting on Wednesday. The decision comes more than three years of suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chinese embassies in Singapore and Brunei confirmed that citizens with ordinary passports traveling for business, sightseeing, visiting relatives and friends, and in transit will be eligible for visa-free entry to China. Notices regarding this development were published on the embassies’ official websites.

China had previously eased many of its COVID-19 containment measures in December, but the issuance of tourist visas only recommenced in March.

Additionally, China has been actively pursuing visa-free travel for its citizens to Singapore in reciprocation.
