Wuhan, China (Agencies): China has launched its first drone blood delivery route in Wuhan, marking a significant advancement in medical logistics.

The SF Express Fengyi UAV drone successfully transported 800 milliliters of blood from the Wuhan Blood Center to Wuhan Asia General Hospital in just 19 minutes, drastically reducing the previous delivery time of one hour.

The drone, developed by Phoenix Wings, a cargo drone company under SF Express, can carry up to 10 kilograms and transport 8,000 milliliters of blood at a time. It operates at a height of 300 meters and can fly at a speed of 12 meters per second.

The route was approved as part of Wuhan’s 18 low-altitude commercial trial routes, including 12 drone logistics routes.

This innovative approach addresses challenges such as traffic congestion, long delivery times, and high labor involvement, especially during emergencies and nighttime deliveries.

The drone’s precise landing capabilities, enabled by scanning QR codes, ensure safe and efficient delivery.

The successful implementation of this drone delivery route is expected to save many lives by ensuring timely access to critical medical supplies.
