Tripoli (Agencies): The Libyan United International Company (LUIC), a consortium of private sector Libyan companies working in communications, has signed a contract to connect Libya to the Medusa submarine cable project.
The Medusa submarine cable system connects Libya to various European countries in the Mediterranean Basin. The project aims to boost Libya’s telecommunications sector, make it an exporter of telecom and internet services to African nations, and serve as a gateway for linking Europe to Africa.
The Medusa cable connection will help improve internet speed and capacity in Libya and reduce congestion while enhancing data movement.
