Saudi Arabia money on wooden background

Tripoli (Agencies): In a recent statement from Tripoli, Libya’s Mufti, Sheikh Al-Sadeq Al-Gharyani, cautioned the Syrian people against accepting financial support from international actors, particularly Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He urged Syrians to remember the experiences of Egypt and Libya, where external influences significantly impacted their revolutions.

Al-Ghariani advised Syrians to learn from these nations’ challenges and remain wary of those currently in power. He highlighted that the UAE and Saudi Arabia have invested substantial resources into undermining elected governments in Egypt and Tunisia, exacerbating conflicts such as that in Sudan.

The Mufti underscored the role of Israel and its allies as obstacles to these revolutions, asserting that what transpired in both Libya and Egypt amounted to coups rather than genuine democratic transitions. He urged Syrians to remain united against divisive rhetoric disguised as calls for democracy.

Al-Ghariani noted that although elections occurred in Egypt and Libya, international powers did not support their success; instead, they backed coup leaders like Khalifa Haftar, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, and Kais Saied. He warned Syrians about similar threats infiltrating their revolution and advised them to implement just laws and take decisive measures against anyone challenging their cause.
