Peshawar (Agencies): Security forces have killed eight Khwarij terrorists and injured nine others in two separate operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from November 29 to December 1. The operations also resulted in the martyrdom of a captain and a soldier, according to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release.

The first operation was an intelligence-based mission in the Baka Khel area of Bannu District, targeting the reported presence of Khwarij terrorists. During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists, killing five and injuring nine. Sepoy Iftikhar Hussain, aged 29 and a resident of District Jhang, fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom.

In a separate operation in the Shagai area of Khyber District, security forces killed three Khwarij terrorists and apprehended two others. Captain Muhammad Zohaib Ud Din, aged 25 and a resident of District Lahore, led his troops from the front and paid the ultimate sacrifice, embracing martyrdom during an intense exchange of fire.
These Khwarij terrorists were involved in numerous activities against security forces and innocent civilians. The security forces are conducting sanitization operations to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area. The Pakistan Army remains determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, with the sacrifices of brave soldiers further strengthening their resolve.
