The All Pakistan Universities BPS Teachers Association (APUBTA) delegation comprised of Dr. Pakeeza, Dr. Hidayat, Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad and Dr. Sami ur Rahman participated in the meeting of National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee at HEC Islamabad.


In the meeting, all respected members of the standing committee showed great support for the BPS community and asked the Chairman HEC to resolve the longstanding issues of the universitues BPS Teachers. Chairman HEC added that he admits that it is a genuine issue and he is working on its resolution. He added that there are some hurdles. Member, Ms Javaria Zafar asked Chairman HEC to report to the standing committee if there is any financial or governance issue in approving the promotion policy that has a proper provision in the HEC ordinance. Chairman HEC informed that he will discuss the issue in tomorrow’s meeting of the commission on 7th September for developing a proper mechanism of resolving the issue and will report to the standing committee.
The Chairman standing committee, Mr Sami ul Hasan Gilani added that we hope that in tomorrow’s meeting of the commission, the members shall consider an amicable solution of the discriminatory policies and shall resolve the matter.
Other members of the standing committee, Dr Nisar Ahmad Cheema, Ms Kiran Imran Dar, Ms Samina Matloob, and Ms Farukh Khan stressed that the request of BPS teachers should be addressed as soon as possible.
