ISLAMABAD: At the call of APUBTA, the BPS teachers have arranged meetings in universities across the country.
The meeting was called to display solidarity with the association and support for the progress on the draft BPS Statutes, so far.
The Core committee members have made more than 30 meetings with HEC and government officials to resolve the issues regarding promotion as per HEC ordinance 2002.
The matter is also raised by the standing committees of the National Assembly and Senate.
The honourable speaker of the National Assembly Mr Raja Pervez Ashraf has also directed the HEC for resolving the issues but has not done so far.
In this regard, to record a protest against the delaying tactics of HEC various meetings of BPS teachers are being held across the country namely at the University of Malakand Dir(L), Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal Dir(U), Khushal Khan Khatak University Karak, Kohat University of S&T, Hazara University, Mansehra, University of Kotli AJK, NTU Faisalabad, Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Punjab, University of Azad Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Agriculture University Peshawar, University of Sawabi, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Sindh University Karachi, International Islamic University Islamabad, Federal Urdu University Islamabad, KIU GB, University of Baltistan (MC), University of Gujrat, Islamia College University Peshawar, University of Haripur, Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology, Rahim Yar Khan, Government College University Faisalabad, University of Jhang, Baluchistan university of S&T and the University of Peshawar.
While speaking to the faculty the office bearers of Central, Provincial Core Committee and local leaders of APUBTA express their strong support for the APUBTA and solidarity with efforts of APUBTA, in general, and that for the promulgation of the BPS Faculty Statutes, in particular.
The participants have equivocally stressed on the HEC to make sure the timely completion of all steps towards finalization of the draft statutes and provision of the service structure to the BPS faculty that has been denied, for decades, by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in clear violation of the provisions of the HEC Ordinance 2002.
Furthermore, the participants have applauded the efforts of APUBTA for submitting draft statutes reviewed by the HEC in several committees that can be approved by the commission. (PR)
