Islamabad (Agencies): The Australian High Commissioner, H.E. Mr. Neil Hawkins, paid a visit to the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Mr. Mohsin Dawar, at his office in the Parliament House.

The meeting focused on areas of mutual interest between the two countries and provided an opportunity for the officials to exchange views on political, security, and economic matters in Pakistan.

During the meeting, H.E. Mr. Neil Hawkins briefed the Chairman on Australia’s efforts to support Pakistan’s development in various sectors, including water security, women’s education, and family planning. The Australian High Commissioner emphasized Australia’s commitment to assisting Pakistan in these critical areas.

In response, Mr. Mohsin Dawar expressed his appreciation for Australia’s contributions to Pakistan and highlighted the challenges faced by youth, particularly women, in accessing education and employment opportunities. The Chairman emphasized the importance of addressing these challenges to create a more inclusive society and provide equal opportunities for all.

Both H.E. Mr. Neil Hawkins and Mr. Mohsin Dawar expressed their shared desire to see a democratic and prosperous Pakistan. The meeting further strengthened the bilateral ties between Australia and Pakistan, paving the way for continued cooperation and collaboration in various fields of mutual interest.
