Guiyang, China (Khyber Mail): Prof. Dr. Asad Ali, Chairman of the Department of Entomology at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM), was honored to present his groundbreaking research at the “4th International Conference on Green Plant Protection and Mountain Agriculture” during the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week 2024, organized by Guizhou University.
The conference, held from August 20-24, 2024, in Guiyang, China, attracted esteemed professors and researchers from across Asia and Europe.
Dr. Asad Ali presented his paper titled “Notes on Bhittai’s Poetry: Impact of Soil Nutrition and Host Plant Resistance: A Novel Approach to Green Plant Protection in Potatoes” on the first day of the symposium. His research emphasized the critical role of precise soil fertilization—timing and quantity—in conjunction with host plant resistance to effectively manage insect pests. He advocated for environmentally friendly techniques, such as biological control using parasitoids, to improve the living standards of people in remote mountainous areas of Pakistan.
The conference provided a platform for sharing innovative ideas and fostering collaboration among experts dedicated to sustainable agriculture and plant protection.
