ISLAMABAD (Agencies): The government has issued a special postage stamp on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day to honour Paris Olympics’ gold medalist Arshad Nadeem and the freedom struggle of the Pakistani nation and its achievements.
The initiative was taken on the special directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, according to a news release issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Saturday.
The special postage stamp, titled “Azm-e-Istehkam,” is a testament to the country’s commitment to development and prosperity. It features a picture of javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem, who won a gold medal and set a new Olympic record by throwing the javelin a distance of 92.97 meters at the Paris Olympics 2024.
The stamp also highlights the freedom struggle of Pakistan’s nation and its symbolic importance by including an image of Minar-e-Pakistan. This stamp, issued by the Government of Pakistan on the occasion of Independence Day, aims to remind future generations of the struggle and sacrifices made by their ancestors for freedom, as well as the government’s commitment to the development of Pakistan.
