SWABI (Khyber Mail): Bacha Khan Medical Complex (MTI), Swabi, has launched a vital service for patients: aspirated bone marrow biopsies. This service eliminates the need for patients to travel to Attock and other districts for the procedure.
According to a BKMC spokesperson, this facility will benefit not only the residents of Swabi but also patients from nearby districts. The Head of the Medicine Department and Infectious Disease Specialist, Dr. Amjad Mahboob, recommended a bone marrow biopsy for a patient, which was successfully performed by Hematologist Dr. Rashid Azeem. The patient is currently admitted to the Medical C Ward and is reported to be in stable condition.
The hospital administration calls this new service a significant gift for the community, as bone marrow biopsies are now available in Swabi, allowing patients to avoid unnecessary delays and travel.
Since receiving MTI status in 2021, Bacha Khan Medical Complex has introduced several new departments, and the number of patients seeking treatment has steadily increased, reflecting growing public trust in its services.
