Jacobabad (Khyber Mail): A bomb explosion near the railway track in Jacobabad, Balochistan, caused the derailment of six bogies of the Jaffar Express, which was traveling from Peshawar to Quetta. The blast left a 3-foot-wide crater on the track, destroying approximately 6 feet of the rail line.

Authorities immediately cordoned off the area, deploying bomb disposal squads and security personnel to investigate the incident. No casualties have been reported, though several passengers sustained minor injuries.

The explosion occurred near a cattle market, prompting concerns over targeted sabotage. Officials are examining evidence to determine the nature of the blast and identify those responsible.

This marks the second attack on Jaffar Express in recent months, following a March 2025 incident in Bolan, where the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for a train hijacking.

Train operations on the affected route have been temporarily suspended, while repair and security measures are underway.
