Islamabad (Khyber Mail): The Centre for Aerospace & Security Studies (CASS) and the Center for International Strategic Studies, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (CISSAJK) have entered into a strategic partnership by signing a Joint Synergy Charter in Islamabad. This agreement aims to foster collaboration on key national security issues, with a particular focus on the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir conflict.

The charter sets out a framework for cooperation, including joint academic research, conferences, and seminars; collaborative research publications; and exchange of academic literature and institutional expertise. These initiatives are designed to enhance and promote narratives on critical national security topics.

Air Marshal Javaid Ahmed (Retd), President of CASS, highlighted the importance of partnerships in advancing research on pressing national and regional issues. He emphasized the necessity of focused efforts in narrative-building and the influential role of social media in shaping public policy. He praised CISSAJK for its unique contributions, especially its ground-level insights into the Jammu & Kashmir conflict.

“CASS has always prioritized collaborative efforts to address challenges in emerging technologies and security. Our partnership with CISSAJK is a step towards combining expertise to tackle pressing issues like the Jammu & Kashmir dispute,” Air Marshal Javaid Ahmed (Retd) stated.

Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja, Executive Director of CISSAJK, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stressing the importance of joint research in shaping national discourse. She acknowledged the valuable opportunities the collaboration presents, including capacity building, knowledge sharing, and policy impact.

Researchers from both institutions shared insights on their ongoing work and highlighted current research endeavors during the event.

This strategic alliance marks a significant step towards leveraging joint expertise to address and influence key national security narratives and policies.
