Islamabad (Adnan Hameed): His Excellency Ladislav Steinhübel, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Pakistan, recently paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, the Caretaker Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs, at the Finance Division.
During the meeting, Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar warmly welcomed Ambassador Steinhübel to Pakistan, extending congratulations on his assignment in the country. The Finance Minister emphasized the longstanding bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and Pakistan, noting the positive trajectory of development in these ties.
Dr. Akhtar expressed optimism regarding the establishment of the Joint Economic Commission (JEC), foreseeing it as a pivotal international platform for enhancing commercial relations between the two nations. Anticipating the upcoming JEC meeting, the Finance Minister underscored its potential to provide essential information for fostering stronger trade relations.
In response, Ambassador Steinhübel conveyed his gratitude to Minister Akhtar and expressed his hope for the timely convening of the inaugural JEC meeting. He disclosed that Czech companies are keen on collaboration in the fields of Mining, Energy, and Chemical sectors.

Additionally, Dr. Akhtar proposed collaboration in the realm of higher education.
