Islamabad, 14 June 2025 (Adnan Hameed) – Pakistani K-POP fans rejoiced as the Embassy of the Republic of Korea successfully hosted the 2025 K-POP Festival at the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) on June 13, a date significant for BTS fans worldwide. The festival not only celebrated the global appeal of K-POP but also served as the regional preliminary round for Pakistan, selecting contestants for the Changwon World K-POP Festival in Korea.
The event, brimming with excitement, was expertly emceed by Ms. Naila Shuja, a renowned anchorperson from PTV World, who energized the audience throughout the night. Among the distinguished guests were Mr. Muhammad Ayoub Jamali, Director General of PNCA, and Dr. Sameena Khan, Parliamentary Secretary of the National Heritage and Culture Division. Both officials applauded the cultural exchange and vibrant participation of Pakistani youth.
The competition featured two thrilling segments: a K-POP vocal cover contest and a K-POP dance cover contest, where ten talented contestants battled for top honors. Between performances, the audience was treated to a “Quiz on Korea”, a lively trivia segment covering topics from K-POP and K-dramas to Korean cuisine and national symbols. Winners walked away with exclusive K-POP merchandise, including BTS and BLACKPINK collectibles, Korean skincare products, and trendy tech accessories.
Adding to the excitement, two former festival champions returned to the stage as special guest performers, delivering professional-level showcases that captivated the crowd.
Winners of the 2025 K-POP Festival didn’t leave empty-handed. The first-place champions in both the vocal and dance segments took home brand-new Samsung Galaxy A26 smartphones, while second-place winners received Galaxy Smart Watch A7, and third-place winners were awarded Samsung Galaxy Wireless Earbuds 3.
Beyond competition, the event proved to be a celebration of cultural unity, strengthening Pakistan-Korea relations while providing young artists a platform to showcase their passion for K-POP.
