PESHAWAR (Khyber Mail): A Saudi Airlines flight experienced a landing gear fire upon touchdown at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport, leading to an immediate emergency response.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday, was quickly managed by the air traffic controller who observed sparks from the aircraft’s left landing gear and alerted the fire and rescue services.
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) confirmed that all 276 passengers and 21 crew members were evacuated safely using inflatable slides. The aircraft, arriving from Riyadh, is now under technical review to ensure its safety following the incident.
