Peshawar (Khyber Mail): In a notable political move, former Caretaker Provincial Minister and District Nazim Rahmat Salam Khattak has rejoined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), marking his return to the party after a brief stint with the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI).

The announcement was made during a press conference held at Khattak’s residence in Peshawar, attended by key PML-N leaders, including Provincial President Amir Muqam, Captain Safdar, and former Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra. The event saw a large gathering of party workers and supporters.

Khattak, who was a loyal member of the PML-N for three decades, expressed his gratitude to party workers and leadership, particularly Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, for facilitating his return. He reaffirmed his dedication to strengthening the party’s presence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and addressing the concerns of his constituents.

“This is a homecoming for me. I am committed to working diligently to uplift the people of my region and contribute to the PML-N’s efforts for a prosperous Pakistan,” Khattak said during his address.

Party leaders welcomed his decision, with Amir Muqam highlighting Khattak’s experience and influence as assets that would bolster the PML-N’s position in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially with elections on the horizon.

This development is seen as a significant boost for the PML-N, enhancing its prospects in the province and solidifying its organizational strength in the lead-up to the next general elections.
