ISLAMABAD (Staff Report): Former Foreign Minister Gohar Ayub Khan, who held significant ministerial positions during ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s administration, passed away on Friday evening. The funeral prayer is scheduled for tomorrow at 3 pm in his native village Rehana, located in the Haripur District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
Gohar Ayub Khan, with a distinguished political career, contributed significantly to Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, leaving an indelible mark on the country’s history. Serving as the foreign minister, he played a crucial role in shaping Pakistan’s international relations during his tenure.
Despite his illustrious career, Gohar Ayub Khan remained deeply connected to his roots, maintaining a strong bond with the people and the land of his ancestral village. He pursued his education at Aitchison College in Lahore and later attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom. Notably, his father, Field Marshal Ayub Khan, served as the President of Pakistan.
