Peshawar (Khyber Mail): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, welcomed an eight-member delegation from Thailand at the Governor House. The delegation was led by the Director General of the Ministry of Culture, Chiaporn Suk Lim, and included Anil Sakya.
The meeting focused on the upcoming Gandhara Buddhist exhibition in Bangkok and discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation. The inclusion of Gandhara civilization artifacts from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Bangkok exhibition was also reviewed.
Discussions were held on joint cultural and art projects. Governor Kundi welcomed the Thai delegation and presented them with souvenirs.
Governor Kundi highlighted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is home to over 2,000 sites of the Gandhara civilization. He emphasized the steps being taken to promote religious tourism in the region, noting the immense potential for such tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Governor Kundi announced plans to invite various ambassadors and religious figures to the Governor House to gather suggestions for promoting religious tourism. He also mentioned that Gandhara Buddhist exhibitions and symposiums would be held in Peshawar and Swat.
Governor Kundi expressed the need for fine arts exchanges between Thailand and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa related to Buddhist civilization.
