Bahawalpur (Khyber Mail): The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) hosted the E-Rozgar Freelancing Summit 2024, celebrating the achievements of over 1,200 students who graduated from the E-Rozgar Markaz and IUB.

The event marked a significant milestone in promoting freelancing and information technology in the region.

During the summit, Director IT Zulfiqar Saeed emphasized the transformative impact of information technology and artificial intelligence on the economy.

He noted that graduates from the E-Rozgar Markaz have collectively earned more than $700,000, showcasing the program’s success. He lauded the efforts of the entire team, including Abdul Samad, Manager of E-Rozgar Markaz, and Haroon Malana, Assistant Director IT, and expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran for his support.

Key speakers included Ijaz Farooq, Manager at the Punjab Information Technology Board, and Hina Arshad, Program Manager at the Punjab Information Technology Board, who highlighted the program’s positive impact. Dean Faculty of Computing Prof. Dr. Dost Muhammad Khan, Tanveer Nandla, Abdul Wahab, and renowned IT experts participated, emphasizing the potential of freelancers to earn significant foreign exchange for Pakistan.

The summit underscored the growing partnership between academia and industry in IT and artificial intelligence, an encouraging sign for future educational and training initiatives. More than 1,000 youth delegates from South Punjab attended the event, viewing it as a crucial platform for fostering relationships between students, industry professionals, and education leaders.
