Islamabad (Agencies): A high-level delegation from Jamiyah Singapore visited the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) to foster academic and cultural collaboration between the two institutions. The delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Mohd Hasbi Abu Bakar, President of Jamiyah Singapore, engaged in fruitful discussions with IIUI leadership, including Rector Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed and President Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed.
The meeting, attended by senior university officials and deans, focused on strengthening ties through joint research initiatives, faculty exchange programs, and promoting interfaith harmony. Both sides agreed to develop a comprehensive roadmap to enhance collaboration, particularly in Arabic language acquisition, with plans for exchange programs, joint workshops, and conferences.
Dr. Mohd Hasbi Abu Bakar highlighted shared goals and extended an invitation to IIUI scholars to participate in a Muslim Festival in Singapore featuring a Seerah exhibition and cultural activities. Rector IIUI proposed co-hosting the next festival in Islamabad to deepen institutional ties.
During the discussions, the Rector emphasized IIUI’s global strengths, including its top 51–100 global ranking in theology and its diverse student body representing over 40 nationalities. He underscored IIUI’s commitment to creating opportunities for youth, advancing interfaith dialogue, and conducting impactful research.
The President of IIUI highlighted the university’s dedication to promoting the Arabic language and fostering international cooperation, presenting IIUI as a hub for academic excellence and cultural exchange.
The delegation, which included senior representatives from Jamiyah Singapore’s International Relations and Mass Communication departments, lauded IIUI’s vision and expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations aimed at strengthening ties between the institutions.
The visit concluded with mutual commitments to regular exchanges, joint projects, and initiatives promoting shared values of education, harmony, and cultural enrichment.
