Peshawar (Khyber Mail): In a significant development within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police Department, senior officer Kashif Alam has been appointed as the Additional Inspector General (IG) of the Elite Force.

The office of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) on Friday notified the transfers and postings of four senior police officers. According to a notification issued with the consent of the KP Chief Minister, the Provincial Police Officer has made the following transfers and postings in the public interest:

Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan (PSP, BS-21), formerly Additional IGP Elite Force Khyber, has been transferred and posted as Additional IGP Investigation.

Kashif Alam (PSP, BS-21), previously Additional IGP Investigation, has been posted as Additional IGP Elite Force.

Imran Shahid (PSP, BS-19) has been transferred as Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu and posted as DIG Security and Survey Branch.

Sajjad Khan (PSP, BS-19) has replaced Imran Shahid as RPO Bannu.

Kashif Alam, a seasoned police officer with extensive experience in key roles, is expected to bring his expertise to the Elite Force, a specialized unit known for counter-terrorism and high-profile security operations. His leadership is anticipated to bolster the unit’s operational capabilities amidst the province’s ongoing security challenges.

This reshuffle reflects the KP government’s focus on optimizing law enforcement performance to address evolving security needs. The changes highlight the critical importance of experienced leadership in ensuring the effectiveness of the police force.
