Peshawar (Khyber Mail): The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has earmarked funding for three new development projects under the Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2025–26, aimed at boosting industrial modernization and research. The initiatives fall under the Directorate of Industries, a subsidiary wing of the Industries, Commerce, and Technical Education Department.

A total of 40 development projects have been included in the budget, comprising 22 new and 18 ongoing schemes, with an overall allocation of Rs. 2,853.865 million. Of this, Rs. 395.009 million has been designated for new projects, while Rs. 2,458.865 million supports ongoing schemes.

The three new projects introduced for the Directorate of Industries include:

  • Revamping and Modernization of the Government Printing Press, with a total estimated cost of Rs. 15 million and Rs. 4 million allocated for FY 2025–26.
  • Conversion of Conventional Brick Kiln to Modern Greener Technology, estimated at Rs. 50 million, with Rs. 3 million assigned for FY 2025–26.
  • Establishment of Research and Statistical Cell at DIC and Statistical Surveys Across KP, budgeted at Rs. 30 million, with Rs. 3 million allocated for the upcoming fiscal year.

The cumulative cost for these three projects stands at Rs. 95 million, with Rs. 10 million allocated for FY 2025–26. The government aims to enhance industrial efficiency, introduce eco-friendly technology, and improve data-driven decision-making through these initiatives.
