Kohat (Agencies): The district administration of Kohat has intensified its crackdown on illegal mining in Khushalgarh, with Deputy Commissioner Abdul Akram Chitrali reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy against the practice.

As part of the ongoing drive, authorities have taken 13 major actions, seizing heavy machinery and initiating legal proceedings against violators. A total of 476 cases have been registered so far, leading to the imprisonment of several individuals involved in unlawful mining activities.

In a recent operation led by the Assistant Commissioner, four more individuals were arrested and sent to jail. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that strict and indiscriminate action will continue to ensure compliance with the law, adding that Khushalgarh has been cleared of illegal mining three times under the administration’s efforts.

He further assured landowners that their rights would be protected, stating that all legal agreements would be made in their best interests and that no landowner would face injustice.
