PESHAWAR, Aug 31 (APP): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KP-EZDMC), Javed Iqbal Khattak and his team held a meeting with the officials from the World Bank funded project “Khyber Pass Economic Corridor-KPEC’ on Wednesday to have an overview of the prospective interventions required by the company and KPEC.
The primary goal of the project is to build a 48-Kilometre long 4-lane, dual carriageway high-speed access-controlled road from Peshawar to Torkham and encourage economic growth and uplift in nearby districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Benefits of the proposed economic corridor also include, but not limited to urban development, investment in public infrastructure and economic zones.
The establishment of a ‘Women Business Park’ and ‘Pak-Afghan Economic Zone by KP-EZDMC also come under discussion during the meeting.
