Islamabad (Khyber Mail): The Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) recently hosted the launch of Justice Dr. Syed Mohammad Anwar’s book, “Al-Mahallab, Khita-e-Pakistan main Islam ka pehla Alambardar.” The event saw a large turnout of professors, writers, journalists, and scholars.

Dr. Khurram Iqbal from the National Defence University (NDU) introduced the book, emphasizing its significance in the context of Islamic history. Dr. Anjum from the History Department of Quaid-e-Azam University provided a thematic review, while Dr. Qibla Ayaz, former chairman of the Islamic Ideological Council, offered a detailed analysis.

Justice Dr. Syed Mohammad Anwar, the author, highlighted Al-Mahallab’s unique role in bringing Islam to the region through the Khyber Pass, approximately forty years before Muhammad Bin Qasim. He noted Al-Mahallab’s importance in ending the Kharijite sedition.

The audience showed great interest in the book, appreciating the author’s efforts to shed light on this lesser-known figure in Islamic history. Ambassador Jauhar Saleem, President of IRS, concluded the event by congratulating the author and calling the book a milestone for young researchers.
