Karachi (Khyber Mail): Danish shipping company Maersk has announced plans to invest $2 billion in Pakistan’s port and transport infrastructure over the next two years. This significant investment is a result of the efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council and is expected to contribute to infrastructure development and economic improvement in the country.

Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh will visit Denmark this month to sign a memorandum of understanding between Maersk Shipping Company and Karachi Port Trust. In a statement, Sheikh highlighted Karachi’s potential to increase exports and emphasized that the Ministry of Maritime Affairs is providing an enabling environment for the business community to thrive.
