Peshawar (Khyber Mail): Under the special directives of Federal Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Pakistan Railways Peshawar Division has launched an extensive anti-encroachment operation to reclaim illegally occupied land. The campaign, led by Divisional Superintendent (DS) Railways Peshawar, Mr. Inamullah, has successfully recovered 210 marlas of commercial land valued at approximately Rs. 270 million.

The operation targeted multiple locations across the Peshawar Division, including Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Kundian, Mianwali, and Kalabagh, where illegal structures had been built on valuable railway property. Heavy machinery was deployed to demolish unauthorized constructions and reclaim the occupied land.

According to DS Peshawar, the initiative is part of the Railways Ministry’s broader strategy to secure its assets and improve the department’s financial health. He affirmed that the anti-encroachment operation will continue without discrimination.

Railway authorities also confirmed that a comprehensive schedule has been prepared for the next phase of the operation. The department is determined to reclaim all encroached railway land and ensure long-term protection of its assets.
