Bannu (Khyber Mail): In a significant move to maintain discipline and keep politics out of the KP police force, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Bannu has dismissed eleven officers from service.

These officers were accused of inciting rebellion within the force and using government-issued weapons to intimidate both fellow officers and the public.

The decision has been widely welcomed by social circles, the public, and retired police officers, who emphasized that the police must remain a disciplined force with no room for politics, unionism, or factionalism.

They believe that a politically neutral and strong police force is essential for maintaining peace and order in Bannu.

Meanwhile, KP police are on strike in the Lakki Marwat and Bannu areas against the arrest of their colleague Jamshed Khan, who has been detained under the Maintenance of Public Order (3 MPO) ordinance.

Investigations are ongoing, with CCTV footage and mobile communications being scrutinized.

It has also been decided that no future recruitment will be made from the families of the dismissed officers. The number of dismissals may increase as the investigation continues.
