Islamabad (Khyber Mail): The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, inaugurated the Minister’s Complaint Cell on Saturday, marking a major step toward enhancing transparency and accelerating public service delivery in Pakistan’s maritime sector.

Aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the complaint cell is designed to serve as a centralized platform for receiving public grievances and suggestions related to maritime affairs.

During the launch, Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhry emphasized the government’s commitment to open communication between institutions and the public. “This complaint cell demonstrates our dedication to good governance and public service. It will serve as a vital bridge between the ministry and stakeholders, including citizens, seafarers, port users, and investors,” he stated.

The initiative enables individuals to lodge complaints, raise concerns, or provide constructive input on maritime operations, port management, shipping policies, and other key areas under the ministry’s jurisdiction. The feedback collected will play a crucial role in refining policies, improving services, and swiftly addressing legitimate concerns.

The minister reaffirmed that the complaint cell is part of a broader reform agenda aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability, and enhanced stakeholder engagement in maritime governance.

The platform will be accessible online via the ministry’s official website, as well as through email and phone services. A dedicated team has been appointed to ensure prompt responses and effective follow-ups on registered complaints.

Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhry noted that this initiative represents a significant milestone in modernizing Pakistan’s maritime sector, making it more efficient, people-centric, and responsive to public needs.
