Sanghar, Sindh (Agencies): In a groundbreaking development, the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the discovery of a substantial hydrocarbon deposit at the Baloch-2 well in the Sanghar district of Sindh. This discovery marks a significant milestone in the region’s energy sector and promises to bring prosperity and development to the area.
The Baloch-2 well, located in the Sinjhoro block, was drilled to a depth of 3,920 meters in the Sembar Formation. The well has successfully tested 6.8 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas and 388 barrels of condensate per day (bcpd) through a choke size of 32/64” at a wellhead flowing pressure of 2180 psi1.
According to the spokesman of OGDCL, this discovery not only confirms the untapped potential of the Sembar Formation but also opens new avenues for further exploration and development of hydrocarbon reserves in the region1.
