Islamabad (Khyber Mail): In a significant step towards youth empowerment and sustainable development, the Prime Minister’s Office and the All Pakistan Geoscientists Association (APGA) have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to launch collaborative initiatives in employability, social entrepreneurship, and skill development. The signing ceremony took place at the Prime Minister’s Office, with Chairman of PMYP Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan witnessing the occasion.

Dr. Muhammad Ali Malik, Director General PMYP, and Professor Dr. Adil Naseer, CEO and Founder of APGA, formalized the agreement, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at equipping Pakistan’s youth, particularly from underserved areas, with the skills needed to thrive in an evolving global landscape.

Speaking at the event, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan highlighted the government’s resolve to unlock youth potential as a catalyst for socio-economic growth. “This collaboration with APGA reflects our dedication to preparing the youth for the future. By bridging academia and industry, we are fostering a more inclusive and competitive workforce,” he stated.

The agreement paves the way for the establishment of the National Center of Excellence on Energy and Climate, spearheaded by APGA. The center will offer free training programs in climate change, renewable energy, and geosciences, with a focus on inclusivity and gender equity.

APGA CEO Dr. Adil Naseer underscored the importance of the initiative, stating, “We are dedicated to empowering youth through education, innovation, and community engagement. This partnership will help address key challenges in climate and energy, creating opportunities for young people to play a pivotal role in Pakistan’s development.”

The partnership will further develop youth-centric programs, scientific research initiatives, and community outreach projects on disaster management, environmental sustainability, and renewable energy.

This alliance stands as a testament to Pakistan’s commitment to sustainable development and aligns closely with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by promoting education, equality, and innovation.
