Islamabad (Agencies): The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) joined the global community in commemorating International Women’s Day under the theme “Accelerate Action for Gender Equality,” reaffirming its commitment to empowering women and fostering an inclusive society.
Speaking at the event, PRCS Chairperson Mrs. Farzhana Naek highlighted the crucial role of women in building resilient communities, stating that “Empowering women is not just a moral imperative but a prerequisite for sustainable development.” She emphasized PRCS’s dedication to dismantling barriers and creating equal opportunities for women and girls across various sectors.
She further noted that PRCS provides an inclusive and supportive environment where women feel empowered to contribute effectively, whether in disaster response, healthcare, or volunteerism. “We continue to amplify women’s voices, ensuring they lead and contribute adequately to our humanitarian mission,” she said.
