Peshawar (Khyber Mail): The National Centre of Excellence in Geology (NCEG) at the University of Peshawar proudly announces the successful public defense of Mr. Rahman Gul’s Ph.D. research on glacier dynamics in the Karakoram and Himalayan mountain ranges.

Mr. Gul’s research, conducted under the expert supervision of Dr. Saad Khan and co-supervised by Dr. Muhammad Ali, Assistant Professors at NCEG, provides innovative insights into glacier dynamics and the impacts of climate change on glacial landscapes. Utilizing advanced geospatial techniques, his study analyzed temporal and spatial changes in glacier altitudes and areas, contributing valuable knowledge to the field.

The thesis was evaluated by internationally renowned experts, including Dr. Shamsuddin Shahid from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Dr. Bo Yu from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. The defense was further scrutinized by Dr. Siddique Ullah Baig from COMSATS University Islamabad as the external examiner and Dr. Iffat Tabassum from the Department of Geography, University of Peshawar as the internal examiner.

During his Ph.D. journey, Mr. Gul made significant contributions to the scientific community, culminating in a published article in a prestigious international journal, with two additional articles currently under review.

Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Gul acknowledged the support and guidance of his supervisors, friends, and family. He thanked Allah for his success and expressed deep appreciation for the collective efforts that made his research achievements possible.
