• Pakistan Airports Authority Advances Major Infrastructure Projects Across the Country

Karachi (Khyber Mail): The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) is making significant strides in enhancing the country’s aviation infrastructure, with multiple expansion and upgradation projects underway. These updates were shared during the second e-Kacheri, held at the PAA Headquarters and presided over by Acting Director General Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed.

Among the key projects is the reconstruction of the second runway at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), which has reached the end of its operational life. The project aims to bolster safety and efficiency at Pakistan’s busiest airport.

In addition, extensive upgrades are being carried out at Sukkur, Skardu, and Dera Ghazi Khan Airports to accommodate larger aircraft and improve passenger experiences. A new greenfield airport is also in the planning phase for Dera Ismail Khan, signaling a significant advancement in aviation infrastructure for the region.

During the session, Acting DG PAA, accompanied by Deputy Director General Airports Sadiq ur Rehman and other senior officials, addressed passenger concerns and operational challenges. Specific issues discussed included enhancing the queue management system at Islamabad International Airport, improving motorcycle parking at Multan International Airport, and resolving operational queries for Hyderabad and Parachinar Airports.

The DG issued directives for immediate resolutions, reaffirming PAA’s commitment to delivering safe, efficient, and passenger-friendly airport services. “Passenger feedback is vital to ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence,” he stated, thanking participants for their valuable insights.

With these initiatives, PAA continues to strengthen Pakistan’s aviation infrastructure, fostering connectivity and elevating the overall travel experience for passengers nationwide.
