Islamabad (Khyber Mail): In a significant move to bolster Pakistan-Iran relations, Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has underscored the importance of strengthening ties between the two nations. Emphasizing shared religious and cultural bonds, Sadiq highlighted the need for enhanced parliamentary exchanges to foster stronger trade and economic partnerships.

During a meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, at the Parliament House, Sadiq reaffirmed Iran’s status as a close and valued neighbor, cherishing the longstanding fraternal relationship between the two countries. He stressed the importance of further consolidating the bond between Pakistan and Iran, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to expanding economic ties and parliamentary collaboration.

Sadiq pointed out that increased interactions between the parliaments of both nations could serve as a catalyst for bolstering bilateral relations. He also highlighted the significant role both countries play in fostering regional peace and stability, emphasizing that their cooperation is crucial for achieving this goal.

Ambassador Moghadam praised Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional harmony and stability, expressing Iran’s strong commitment to furthering its brotherly relations with Pakistan. He lauded Sadiq’s dedication to enhancing parliamentary cooperation and identified several areas for potential collaboration, particularly in energy, agriculture, and other economic sectors.
