ISLAMABAD (Khyber Mail): A high-level delegation from Sri Lanka’s National Defence College (NDC) successfully completed its International Collaboration Visit to Pakistan, spanning from April 26 to May 6, 2025. The visit, facilitated by the Sri Lankan High Commission in Islamabad in coordination with the Ministries of Defence and armed forces of both countries, aimed to strengthen bilateral military and strategic ties.
The delegation, led by Commodore Nimal Ranasinghe, Senior Directing Staff at NDC Sri Lanka, consisted of 16 officers representing the tri-services and police. Throughout their ten-day visit, the delegation engaged in discussions and exchanged insights with key Pakistani institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Service Headquarters, Command and Staff Colleges, and various defense equipment manufacturing enterprises.
In addition to official meetings, the delegation explored industrial zones and sites of cultural and religious significance, reflecting Pakistan and Sri Lanka’s shared historical and diplomatic ties. The visit concluded with an official reception at the Sri Lankan High Commission, marked by a farewell dinner in honor of the delegation’s fruitful engagement in Pakistan.
Recognized as Sri Lanka’s premier military training institution, the National Defence College continues to play a vital role in shaping policy on national security and fostering international defense cooperation. The delegation’s visit underscores the ongoing commitment of both nations to enhancing strategic collaboration and defense partnerships at a higher level.
