Lahore (Agencies): Security forces successfully intercepted and neutralized a surveillance-grade uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) near a sensitive aviation zone close to Lahore Airport. The drone was detected in the vicinity of the Aviation Military Engineering Services (MES) sector, prompting an immediate response from authorities.

Electronic countermeasures were deployed, leading to the successful jamming and forced landing of the UAV. The drone has been taken into custody by law enforcement agencies and is undergoing a forensic examination to determine its origin, operator, flight path, and intended purpose.

Officials confirmed that no casualties or infrastructure damage occurred during the operation, and airport flight operations remained unaffected. In response to the incident, airspace surveillance protocols have been heightened, with civil aviation, intelligence agencies, and military units coordinating efforts to prevent future airspace violations.

Authorities have issued a strict advisory against unauthorized drone activity, warning that any unapproved aerial operations could trigger an immediate security response, leading to legal consequences and operational disruptions. The incident underscores the growing concerns over aerial surveillance and the need for stringent airspace security measures in urban centers.
