Rawalpindi (Khyber Mail): Advocate Tahira Bano Mubarak has been elected unopposed as Member Executive from Rawalpindi for the High Court Bar Election 2025. She will represent Rawalpindi Division on the Executive Body, joining a list of recently elected members from other districts.

Earlier, Muhammad Ali from Attock, Sohail Imran from Mianwali, and Raja Zia from Jhelum were also elected to the Executive Body. The upcoming projection meeting of candidates is scheduled for February 20, while polling will take place on February 22 from 8 am to 4 pm.

The election will see more than 5,500 male and female lawyers from across the Rawalpindi Division casting their votes to choose the leadership for the upcoming year. According to the final candidate list issued by Election Board Chairman Tanveer Iqbal Khan, several key positions are being contested by prominent legal professionals.

For the post of president, Ahsan Hameedullah and Khurram Masood Kayani are in the race. The senior vice president position is being contested by Saima Shujee and Khawar Riaz Qadri, while Malik Shahid Iqbal and Shahid Jahangir Khan are competing for the vice president seat. Khalil Ahmed Malik and Raja Aamir Mahmood are the candidates for the secretary position, and female candidates Shazia Ambrain Awan and Nargis Shabbir Alvi are vying for the role of additional secretary.

Notably, Hassan Ali has already been elected unopposed for the post of joint secretary. Other candidates for the Executive Body include Uzma Mubarak, Azmat Ali Mubarak, Saqib Shahzad, Sheikh Muhammad Ali, Raja Muhammad Zia Ashraf, Sohail Imran, and Rahat Saleem.

The 2025 High Court Bar elections are being closely watched as legal professionals across the region prepare to elect their new leadership, which will play a crucial role in shaping the legal community’s direction for the coming year.
