The Directorate of Quality Enhancement of Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) scheduled a Self-Institutional Performance Evaluation (IPE) of the university from 20th to 22nd June 2022.

The Self-IPE team was headed by Prof. Dr. Murad Ali Khan (Department of Chemistry as an internal member, along with Mr. Imran Marwat (Director QAA HED Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as an external member),  Prof. Dr. Wali Khan Mashwani( Dean, Faculty of Physical and Numerical Sciences – Institute of Numerical Sciences as an internal member), Prof. Dr. Daud Khan (Department of Biotechnology as an internal member), Prof. Dr. Wisal Ahmad (Institute of Business Studies as an internal member), Prof. Dr. Ijaz Khattak(Department of Chemistry as an internal member) and Dr. M. Zeeshan Bangash (Director QEC as member cum secretary). The panel conducted thorough evaluation of the overall academic as well as non-academic sectors of the university as per the prescribed 11 standards of IPE set by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The team evaluated the University Portfolio Report (UPR) along with all the related documents in the light of guidelines of Quality Assurance Agency HEC Pakistan. 

Prior to the initiation of evaluation, the self-IPE panel held an opening meeting with Professor Dr. Sardar Khan- Vice Chancellor KUST. The Vice Chancellor welcomed the external evaluator and paid thanks to him for his visit out of his busy schedule and also paid special thanks other IPE team members for their services to evaluate and identify gray area of the university to uplift the quality standards to meet the international standards. The panel held meeting with sectional heads, HoDs, faculty members and students and obtained their inputs about the overall functions of the university. The team applauded the efforts of QEC directorate for their interest in organizing such important activities to accomplish HEC target set for QEC. At the end,  the IPE team expressed satisfaction on the overall functions of the university. During the exit meeting with Vice Chancellor KUST, the panel shared their findings and recommendations and highlighted the sectors that need improvement. The panel expressed satisfaction on the overall program facilities provided by the university and appreciated the efforts of the top leadership and the management in running the university affairs smoothly and up to the satisfaction of faculty and students. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the IPE panel and the active role of the directorate of quality enhancement for organizing activities in the campus that is helpful in uplifting academic quality standard and congratulated for successfully organizing of this activity.
