SWABI: Assistant Professors of the University of Swabi protested against the university’s administration for not restoring their services despite Peshawar High Court’s order, they marched through various departments and administration blocks, holding play cards describing slogans for their restoration.
According to the sources, some three months back, the management of the University of Swabi had removed 34 Assistant Professors from various departments of the university. The sacked professors moved to the Peshawar High court against the university’s administration’s action for expelling them.
The sources told that the Peshawar High Court had ordered the restoration of the services of the expelled Assistant Professors but the university management was tolerating them.
Yesterday, the 34 Assistant Professors, who were removed by the University of Swabi, protested against the failure of the University administration for implementing their restoration order issued by the Peshawar High Court (PHC).
They gathered on the university campus and marched through various departments and administration blocks, holding play cards describing slogans for their restoration.
They also chanted slogans against the university administration, the protesters said, “There was a conspiracy against them, they had been expelled despite serving the university for about seven to ten years and their families were being pushed to the darkest future and hunger.
The Assistant professors serving in different departments of the university claimed that the Peshawar High Court had restored their services but the university administration failed to maintain the court’s order although a copy of the judicial decision had already been served to the relevant authorities.
They demanded immediate restoration of their services to save them and their families from a dark future and hunger.
