Sukkur, Pakistan (Agencies): The Sukkur Airport, officially known as Begum Nusrat Bhutto Airport, is undergoing a major upgrade that will enable it to handle Boeing 777 category wide-body aircraft.

This development is part of a broader initiative by Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to enhance the country’s aviation infrastructure.

The upgrade involves extending the runway and taxiway, reconstructing the apron, and modernizing the terminal facilities.

These enhancements will meet international standards and allow the airport to serve Code E aircraft, including the Boeing 777, for the next 20 years.

The expansion is set to transform Sukkur Airport into a key hub, facilitating domestic and potential international flights.?

Located strategically in Sindh, Sukkur Airport is the second most important airport in the province after Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

Its modernization will significantly boost connectivity for northern Sindh and adjoining areas.

The project, spearheaded by the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), aligns with the government’s vision to strengthen economic and transport links across the country
