Peshawar (Khyber Mail): Professor Dr. Muhammad Naseer ud Din, the Vice Chancellor of Kohat University of Science & Technology (KUST) and Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak, recently had a productive meeting with the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, at the Governor House in Peshawar. The meeting focused on critical academic and financial issues facing by both universities.
During the meeting, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Naseer ud Din briefed Governor on the challenges related to pensions, salaries, and budgetary constraints faced by both universities. The Governor stressed the need for sustainable funding and resources to address these issues effectively.
The Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Naseer ud Din extended a gracious invitation to Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to visit Kohat University of Science and Technology, which was warmly accepted. This visit is expected to provide Governor with insight into the operational dynamics and challenges faced by the universities.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi emphasized the importance of stringent measures to combat drug abuse within the universities and stressed that no external pressures should compromise academic integrity. He underscored the need for universities in the province to strive towards financial independence through effective management and resource mobilization efforts.
Expressing his confidence in Governor’s leadership, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Naseer ud Din expressed optimism that under his dynamic chancellorship, both Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak, and KUST would successfully overcome their current challenges. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that students receive a quality education that equips them for financial stability and success in practical life.
