KHUZDAR (Agencies): A devastating blast targeted a school bus in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district on Wednesday morning, killing five people, including three children, and injuring multiple others, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The attack, described by ISPR as a “cowardly act”, was reportedly planned and executed by terrorist proxies operating in Balochistan.
The school bus was struck near Khuzdar Zero Point, causing widespread devastation. Authorities confirmed that three schoolchildren and two adults lost their lives, while several injured were rushed to Khuzdar CMH for emergency medical care. Those in critical condition were transferred to Quetta and Karachi for advanced treatment.
Security forces, including police and Frontier Corps personnel, quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area and begin investigations. Preliminary findings indicate the attack was a suicide bombing, but further inquiries are underway.
The ISPR accused external forces of intensifying terror activities in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Recent operations led by Pakistan’s military have resulted in the elimination of multiple terrorist groups. Officials vowed that planners and perpetrators of this brutal act will be brought to justice.
The Pakistan Armed Forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating terrorism and protecting civilians from further attacks.
As investigations continue, authorities remain on high alert, emphasizing the need for enhanced security to prevent similar incidents in the future.
