KARACHI – Pakistan (Agencies): Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) of Pakistan showcased its latest innovation, the “EGHRAAQ” Ultra Lightweight Torpedo (ULWT), at the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024 in Karachi. Designed for modern naval warfare, the EGHRAAQ is aimed at addressing asymmetric maritime threats, including small submarines and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs).
This torpedo is reported to be highly maneuverable and deployable from various platforms, including aerial, surface, and underwater assets. Its lightweight design enhances operational versatility while maintaining precision and effectiveness. The weapon emphasizes GIDS’ capabilities in integrating advanced propulsion and guidance systems, underscoring Pakistan’s focus on strengthening indigenous defense technologies.
