Doha (Agencies): Qatar Airways is set to make aviation history by becoming the first airline from the Middle East to launch non-stop flights to Colombia and the only Middle Eastern carrier to operate flights to Venezuela. The airline announced its new service will begin in early summer 2025, strengthening ties between the Middle East and South America.

The route will connect Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha with El Dorado International Airport (BOG) in Bogotá, Colombia, and Simon Bolivar International Airport (CCS) in Caracas, Venezuela. The return leg from Caracas to Doha will operate non-stop.

Flights will run twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays and will be serviced by Qatar Airways’ Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, offering 42 Business Class seats and 234 Economy Class seats.

Qatar Airways Group CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said, “The launch of flights to Bogotá and Caracas marks a transformative moment for Qatar Airways and for travelers to South America. As the first airline to offer non-stop service from the Middle East to Colombia and the only Middle Eastern carrier flying to Venezuela, we are creating new opportunities to connect people, cultures, and commerce.”

The addition of these destinations expands Qatar Airways’ network in the Americas to 16 cities, including major hubs like New York, Miami, São Paulo, and Toronto. This move aims to boost cultural and economic exchanges between the Middle East and South America, offering passengers enhanced travel options and convenience.
