London (Agencies): Over 2,600 British troops and 730 military vehicles will participate in large-scale exercises along NATO’s eastern flank, the UK Defense Ministry announced.
The UK’s 1st Division will lead NATO’s land forces during Exercise Steadfast Dart 25, set to take place in Bulgaria and Romania. The exercise will focus on deploying the Allied Reaction Force, a unit capable of rapidly reinforcing the alliance’s eastern front.
“The UK is providing the largest contribution with over 2,600 personnel and 730 vehicles to strengthen NATO’s deterrence and defense posture,” the ministry stated.
The drills come as NATO increases its military presence near Russia’s western borders, citing the need to counter “Russian aggression.” Moscow has dismissed the allegations, emphasizing that while it poses no threat, it will respond to actions that could compromise its security.
