At least nine individuals have lost their lives at a high school and a residential location in the Canadian province of British Columbia, according to police reports on Tuesday, marking the nation’s most lethal Tumbler Ridge School Shooting in decades.
Authorities found six deceased individuals and many others injured when they arrived in response to reports of an active shooter at the educational institution in Tumbler Ridge, a small rural community situated in the province’s northeast, at approximately 1:20 p.m. local time on Tuesday.
One other person lost life to their injuries while being transported to the hospital, as stated by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Furthermore, two additional deceased individuals were located at a residence believed to be associated with the incident, as indicated in a police statement.

Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed that he was “devastated” by a “horrific” shooting incident in a remote area of western British Columbia, which resulted in the deaths of nine individuals and specifically targeted a secondary school. “My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the families and friends mourning the loss of their loved ones due to these atrocious acts of violence,” Mr. Carney stated in a post on social media.
The tragic event took place in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, a scenic town nestled in a mountain valley at the foothills of the Rockies. According to a statement from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), a total of 27 individuals sustained injuries, with two suffering from serious conditions and 25 others experiencing non-life-threatening injuries with the Tumbler Ridge School Shooting.

Tumbler Ridge is a remote community with a population of about 2,400 individuals, located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in northern British Columbia, around 1,155 km (717 miles) northeast of Vancouver. Images of the town reveal a snow-covered landscape filled with pine trees.
“There were multiple injuries and several deceased individuals inside the school as officers made their way through the scene,” Floyd reported to the media. “We are still triaging additional victims, and I do not have updates on whether that number might increase. The scene was extremely dramatic, and there are numerous victims who are still being treated,” Floyd remarked.
In April 2020, a 51-year-old man, disguised in a police uniform and driving a fake police vehicle, shot and killed 22 people during a 13-hour rampage in the Atlantic province of Nova Scotia, before being shot by police at a gas station approximately 90 km (60 miles) from where he committed his first murders.
New Update On Canada School Shooting Incident
On Wednesday, police reported that ten individuals, including the shooter, lost their lives and at least 25 others sustained injuries in a shooting incident at a school in British Columbia, Canada.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the suspect, described as a woman wearing a dress with brown hair in a previous alert, was discovered deceased on the school grounds, believed to have suffered a self-inflicted injury.
Authorities stated that six victims were found dead at the school, one individual succumbed to injuries while being transported to the hospital, and two others were discovered deceased at a residence within the community. Additionally, two individuals were airlifted to the hospital with serious or life-threatening injuries.
